A Slimming Night Out...

A Slimming Night Out...

Wednesday night past was my Slimming World dinner held in the Strangford Arms in a private function room after our dinner there was a DJ and what started of as going to be a nice quiet evening soon turned.. In a good way ofcourse! I had an absolute fabulous time and never thought I'd say these next words in my life.. I WAS DANCING! I was up dancing with a few of the girls from another one of the SW classes and then I was dancing with a man called Clive who was such a gentleman! All I kept saying was *I don't know how to dance* *I've never done this* or just standing there but once I heard Shania Twain - Man! I feel like a Woman? Well that was me! I was off and literally didn't stop moving till the night ended!

I'm not going to lie it wasn't easy, when I first got up to dance I literally froze and believed everyone was looking at me so I panicked and as you can probably guess what happened next.. I had an anxiety attack! I removed myself from the room and went straight to the toilets. As far as I was aware I was alone but that wasn't the case and another slimmer was there. Her name was Debbie - she was fantastic and calmed me down once I explained to her why it was happening and awhile later returned with another woman called Janice who was lovely and helpful as well! It was true what they said everyone at Slimming world is there for the same reasons and there all going to be supportive to each other.

It wasn't until I left the toilets that it came to me, I was running! Running because I was scared that people were judging me and those people weren't! I haven't panicked like that in months (even years) and it came as a massive eye opener that I'm fed up running or hiding or feeling like I can't be myself because of what others may think.. If others are actually going to judge you negatively or have a strong opinion on your life shouldn't they perhaps get one of their own? That's when I made the choice to get up and dance with people I'd never met before but who all joined in together cause that's what it's all about!

I was sitting at a table with a couple of really nice women one in particular was sitting beside me! My aunt was also there as I joined Slimming World thanks to her!

(my aunt)

I'm also quite happy as the dancing most likely burned of my meal which I'm thankful for as it was absolutely delicious! See below:

Starter: Potato & Leek soup

Main Course: Mash Potato with vegetables

Dessert: Ice-cream with flake and raspberry sauce!

Something I left to the last minute was an outfit but I got there in the end and am also wearing this again for my work do on Friday 12 as I don't believe I could find another dress and I love this! I'm going to wait till next week to go into further detail on my outfit, but I just want to post a picture first! :)

All in All: I had a fab night with really fun and lighthearted women whose whole reason for going was to have fun and no one was excluded in the whole night! Even if you didn't know anyone you still felt included and were able to have a ball! I'm really glad I went and even though there was a little blip during the evening I'm really looking forward to getting on track to reaching my target weight and staying to class!

What do you think of the dress? Do any of you go to Slimming World or have you? Do you have any dinners coming up you're attending?

Secret Santa Introduction

Secret Santa Introduction

I recently discovered and joined a secret Santa exchange hosted by @ Hodge Podge Moments Dani Dearest! A massive thanks to her for hosting the event!
The first step in this Secret Santa Exchange is to write an introduction post so the person I've been partnered up with and get to know me a little better!
HEY! To everyone (but you especially Secret Santa!) My name is Kerry-Ann, I'm 21 and from Northern Ireland! I first started blogging over 3 years ago on Reading A Little Bit of Everything which is my book blog! This past year I was beginning to gain an interest in plus-size fashion, beauty and lifestyle! I've always had an interest in them but I was beginning to feel like I was more interested in ME than BOOKS! (Does that sound bad or selfish? Suppose who is it selfish to me or the books? Now I sound nuticles! Moooving swiftly onn!)

That's when I thought about starting another blog and Voluptuous Chatterbox was made! I love Fashion, beauty, books and all things unique! (Oh plus glitter! I love glittery things!) I'm addicted to shopping and can often be found in a New Look, Easons or a boots store browsing the latest rimmel or no 7 products! I also have a thing for online and catalogue shopping which includes browsing aimlessly through  Amazon.co.uk and Avon!

I haven't travelled that much so far in my life but it is something I'm aspired to do! I have been obsessed with New York & Paris since I was a child and would love to go in the next few years.

As much as I love make-up, beauty and fashion I also have another side of me which is crazy about Formula 1 and Jenson Button! Since reading Paige Toons Chasing Daisy my interest in Formula 1 started years ago and has left a maddening obsession with JB!

If you want to know more about me check out my About Me page HERE which is more detailed (as I ramble!) of even follow me on any of my social networking sites to get a better *feel*of what I like! :D All links to those are at the top right!

#VoluptuouslyFit Week 0

#VoluptuouslyFit Week 0

Monday night means slimming night or more slimming world! I recently joined slimming world and since joining have lost a few lbs which I'm quite pleased with! Since I was 16 I have the stayed the same weight.. no joke! Every time my doctor has weighed me I've always been the same. Although from joining Slimming World as I said above I have lost a couple of lbs with the aim to obviously lose quite abit more. (Not lots just to a place in my life where I feel comfortable!)

I have decided to start #VoluptuouslyFit and am going to use that hashtag across ALL my social media sites to keep things altogether but every Monday Night I will post a weekly update on Voluptuous Chatterbox! You might have noticed it says "Week 0" above and that's because I'm not going over last week I'm starting today so next Monday it'll have been week 1.. do you understand what I mean? It's going to be like a lying week when I get paid although in this case I'm not gaining pounds I'm losing lbs! (I'm actually so happy with that little comment there!)

There's not much to share on this post except I lost half a lb tonight which is still an achievement! A lady tonight at the class told me to imagine I lose half every week for a year! It ALL adds up and it's so true!

I'd LOVE if other people wanted to get involved and perhaps start a wee hashtag so I could keep up to date with their journeys!

On a side note I normally get weighed then leave with my aunt but tonight I stayed and got talking to a woman there and I actually introduced myself to someone I do not know! I just happened to start talking to her when trying to get another's attention and decided if I stayed she would and vise versa! Her name Val and she even invited me to go dancing with her this Wednesday night! Whether or not I go to that is another story but it's the invite that counts.. that and I didn't get nervous and act like a looney! I'm going to stay on Next Monday night as well maybe introduce myself to someone new.. *Fingers crossed* tonight wasn't just a one off!

To many dresses... to little time!

To many dresses... to little time!

In December I'm attending two Christmas dinners and desperately in search of the perfect dress which I can wear for both dos!

One is for the slimming world dinner  I've talked about and the other for a work one. Since they will be in two different towns, different places and with different people I thought maybe it would be best (cheaper) to get one for both... but then if I'm spoiled for choice to much I'll more than likely end up buying two!

I keep annoying those around me (especially mum and sister) of which dress to pick which is why I've decided to make this little blog post with all of my choices so perhaps yous can help pick!

I want something with that festive and winter feel but not christmassy...  understand what I mean? Plus I always need to make sure it goes with my red hair to make sure I don't clash or look like a disco ball!

I've also included purchase links for all dresses incase you want more information on them if you see anything you fancy! :)

Let's get started:

New Look/Inspire - £24.99 Purchase HERE.

New Look/Lovedrobe - £45.00 Purchase HERE.
New Look/Lovedrobe - £59.00 Purchase HERE.
New Look/Koko - £59.00 Purchase HERE.
SimplyBe/ - £50.00 Purchase HERE.

SimplyBe/Anna Scholz - £75 Purchase HERE.
Just for £5/ - £5 - Purchase HERE.
Evans/LittleMistress - £58 Purchase HERE.

Well that's ALL the dresses I want.. what ones are your faves and why? Which ones are yous iffy off? Are any jumping out to be the one? Which dress should I pick?

Comment and let me know!

Do you have a bucket list? What's on yours? What do you think of the things I've completed?

Dusting of the cobwebs - Bucket List, Work, Ant & Dec and dating!

Dusting of the cobwebs - Bucket List, Work, Ant & Dec and dating!

Was it really July the last time I blogged? Yikes! I am very behind on things that have happened (some very life affirming things) so I'm gonna get started....

I GOT A JOB! I actually finally got a job! I mean I searched and searched and applied and applied for numerous jobs left right and centre and I got given an opportunity right on my doorstep near enough! (Which I actually really enjoy and like!) It's also opened up so many learning opportunities as I am currently studying Level 3 Business & Administration.. Looks like I'm not quite finished with tech :D

I'm also planning on looking into doing a night course as well, although on which subject I'm not to sure. I'm positive I'll think of something though.

* * * * *

August was an amazing month for me, not only was it my 21st birthday I also nabbed a ticket to Ant & Decs Saturday night takeaway on tour when it arrived in Belfast at the odyssey Arena (courtesy of the company I'm currently working for) We were up in our own box and it felt well posh.. which is obviously NOT ME! I would really recommend anyone to go see them live in action as it was just as entertaining as watching them on my TV screen... even more so.

The night consisted of Eamon Holmes and Stephen Nolan helping out with performances from Blue, Ashley Roberts and even Ant & Dec themselves performing their hit let's get ready to rumble.

It was one of the most fantastic, memorable and eye-opening experiences of my life so far. Eye-opening because I was able to let go and just have fun.

The following day was also really good as it was my birthday, to  celebrate I went out for lunch with my sister, mum and mums partner and had a really good time! (Also got Frozen on DVD so was finally able to see it!

* * * * *

I have also went out with work for dinner for someone leaving! (I literally panicked before eating in front of everyone but I got there in the end after making an impromptu call to my sister and had a delicious meal at Chef & Manager in Newtownards! (was absolutely lovely and the staff were so friendly!

I also had adult food consisting of Potatoes and chefs vegetables instead of my usual dinner a gravy chip, I thought it best to have grown up food as I was out with work! I really couldn't order a gravy chip in front of my boss.... could I? :o

* * * * *

My bucket list is going quite good as well which I'm really surprised and pleased about, I just have to update it and write posts on the things completed!

* * * * *

I JOINED SLIMMING WORLD! I know I know people have already said "How can you be a plus-size blogger when you're trying to lose weight?" My response to that is "I'm trying to get healthy and fit, YES I want to lose weight  but I also want to get fit and to know what I'm eating!" Slimming World so far has been a blast and I'm also planning on attending the christmas dinner (well I have to attend now as I've paid my deposit!) I'm actually really excited to go and have some fun! (Plus the shopping spree to buy a dress! :D

I am going to start a weekly feature called #VoluptuouslyFit where I'll talk (ramble) about how the weighing was, if I lost anything and all about healthy eating! :D

I'm not in any way trying to change who I am just trying to alter my lifestyle a tad!

* * * * *

There have also been a few things happening that have caused me to take a step back and to concentrate on me! Sometimes things get a bit manic and we need to shut of, I'm trying to come to a relaxed agreement with myself that when things get to stressed I am able to take a time out and not to worry about anything else.

People keep telling me I worry and overthink to much so I'm trying to change that as well which is going to be a struggle... Worrying is second nature to me!

I've dusted off all the cobwebs and decided to write this post in different wee parts to make it easier on my brain I promise I won't be so frazzled and over the place next time! :)

Thanks for reading!

Blogger Guest Post: What's in my handbag?

Blogger Guest Post: What's in my handbag?

A while back I noticed discovered a blog called Pecked to Death by Chickens and saw that they had published a post - 22 Humorous Writing Prompts for bloggers for bloggers to use if stuck on what to share on their. After loving their suggestions I decided to email Susan and ask if she'd like to swap "What's in my handbag" posts as I saw it was one of the things mentioned on the list and quite frankly I'm a nosy person so I was curious as to see what others keep in their bags..

Guest Post - Pecked to Death by Chickens

What’s In My Bag? – A Window Into My Soul (Or At Least My Priorities)

I recently posted a list of 22 Humorous Writing Prompts For Bloggers including doing a “What’s In My Bag?” post. I have been wanting to do it (partly because I have no idea what is in that black hole), and decided to dive in when Kerry-Ann from Voluptuous Chatterbox contacted me about doing a guest post. So we are trading posts and I can’t wait to see what is in her bag! But now for mine…

This is what emerged from the bottomless hobo bag that is my survival kit. I was surprised that it actually had less crap in it than I thought. Who knew that I was a minimalist? Lets get started…

Below you will find the items that reside in the bags inner sanctum – that zippered, hard to get to place where you put things you don’t want others to see, or that you always want to be able to find. For me, this includes a stray diaper for my still in diapers 2 and a half year old (don’t judge), some tampons (4 to be exact - do I get some award for being ultra prepared in the category?) and some Wet Ones hand wipes (because my kids are slimy and apparently I would have to use these with the diaper since I don’t have any wipes).

Next are some boring must haves. A wallet, my checkbook and a pen – all covered with a near-invisible layer of kid dust made of cheerios, Mum-Mums and puffs that swirl around me upon entering or exiting any room.

Okay, now you are going to really start to get to know me. I own very little make-up. I wear even less, however, I am apparently obsessed with Burt's Bees tinted lip balm. Let me break down the colors for you…

Pink Orchid – Pretty much the same color as my flesh. Some call it nude, I call it ‘Look! I have no lips’

Petunia – This is my favorite. It is the same color as my lips, so basically I pay $7.99 to match the lips that are already on my face.

Hibiscus and Rose – Both are too red/dark for me I think, but I still wear them in an attempt to vary my VERY complex make-up routine of what basically amounts to 4 slightly colored ChapSticks.

…Oh and of course some medicated ChapStick because I like my ChapStick to burn a little or it can’t actually be working.

Now we’ve got some cheap sunglasses (with faint coating of aforementioned kid dust), car keys with the dog tags of my dearly departed Marty, a phone charger (oddly my phone was not in my purse) and some barrettes (though I barely have any hair, so not sure when I would have even used them last).

This one is sort of sad…it is my super old iPod and ear buds. The iPod weights as much as a small child, so you know it can’t be one of the newer ones that you can lodge in your nostril without feeling it if you want to. I can’t even remember the last time I used it. Lets not even get into the loads of Hanson and New Edition clogging that thing up.

I have no idea when that Hair Cuttery comb was acquired since I have not allowed them to touch my locks since the scalping of 1985.

The post-it has a short grocery list and the specifics on some tequila I went out to replenish recently for my father in-law. I know nothing about buying tequila (I like a margarita though!), so I had to bring notes.

And finally (see I told you I was a minimalist!), the stuff from the bottom of the bag with a visible coating of kid dust…

My son’s epi pen -- peanut allergy :o(

Remnants of wrapper from a caramel filled chocolate bar I snuck into the only movie I saw this year -- alone. I may have well have written ‘pathetic’ on it and stuck it to my forehead as I left the theater.

My pen (it somehow snuck into 2 photos)…it is a Dr. Grip pen and my favorite kind. I am a bit of a pen snob. Black ink only for me.

A poker chip from Condado Plaza in Puerto Rico – this fell out of my husbands pants pocket when I dropped him at the airport once when we were dating and I guess I kept it for good luck. I mean anything from the proximity of his bum must be a collectors item right?

A pair of kids mittens that my kids refuse to wear and almost fit my tiny pixie hands.

And finally, the piece de resistance…a solitary french fry. Withered and cold, I’m pretty sure this is in most mom bags. They may even slip it in there in the store at check out as a badge of some sort. We don’t know how it got there and if we remove it, we will find its offspring a month later.

Grans 80th Birthday Party..

Grans 80th Birthday Party..

My granny turned 80 recently and as a way to celebrate we had a *surprise* party for her on Sunday... the reason the surprise has wee stars round it is because I told her last month thinking she knew about it.. I found out it was meant to be a surprise when the invite came.. though either she has a good poker face or she genuinely did forget.. I'm going for the latter :)

The celebration was held in a wee hall not far from where I live and everything was set up so lovely and it really was really nice....

Have you ever jumped into an ocean surrounded by sharks? No? You're smart! I'm not.. cause that's my logic when it comes to my *family*. We don't get on.. or they just don't like me that much.. aw well I thought it was going to be fine but then my sister pulled out of going and next my brother and his partner did... so my only allies were gone.. except of course for my dad and his partner though my dad never took his eyes of me and kept watching me like a hawk case I did or said something every time I so much as moved.. (that might have been due to the point an MP was there who I dislike because his party voted against equal marriage in NI and I wanted to corner him and ask him for his policies.. apparently he's friends with my granny Lily.. that's what he calls her about 50 times.. after his whole 3 hour speech (exaggeration 4 minutes) on how he's happy to be there.. yeah probs to get votes as election is in two days! )

Waow I apologise I babbled straight there but I know what'll it make you feel better from reading my nonsense.. cupcakes! LOOKIE:

ROLO CUPCAKE! (Not nice.. had gooey stuff inside :()

LEFT - RIGHT: Me, My granny and my dad!

My granny and I!

All in all it turned out to be an okay day.. I didn't stay for the full three hours only half of that but it was for my granny and she enjoyed herself which is the main thing... :)

Kerry-Ann xx

Have you ever went somewhere purely to support someone else? What was it like?

Gah! I've shared it to twitter, facebook and also text nearly everyone in my phone oh and now I'm posting it here! I'm waiting for someone to go *yeah we know already get over it* but honestly? I don't think I've done a happy dance yet!

For 5 years I've been trying to complete this one level and have never got the grasp of it.. I never understand it and I never thought I'd get it! BUT I finally did which is why I'm so excited about finally achieving my numeracy level 2! (Yeah only level 2 and am stuck) I'm so content with this level that I am NEVER going any higher.. well maybe... perhaps.. we'll wait and see! Never say never isn't that what they say?
I find it incredibly alarming the rush you're able to get just by achieving something you've been working hard to do. I find I'm asking myself already (Can we remember I passed just a few hours ago) what's next? What am I going to do next? What do I think I can achieve or what will I set my mind to? I have a few ideas although whether they come about is another thing... I have a feeling they won't but hey it's still nice to dream!
Emma Watson is
I've received SO MANY lovely messages today, mostly to do with my numeracy but not all and it's shown me that I view myself very differently than others do.. so I'm going to try and see myself the way others do!
This post may not make that much sense as it's 01:16 and I've been up from 7am so I'm a tad tired.. :-/ but hey I included GIFs!
Have you felt happy or got a sudden rush from something you passed or achieved? What was it?

I FINALLY joined Instagram? Have you?

I FINALLY joined Instagram? Have you?

I finally joined Instagram! Have you? Or am I behind on the times? I deleted quite alot of my phone just so I could this! I'm obsessed with taking pictures or everything and anything so I'm really excited about this! I'm really easily amused I know :)

April Monthly Roundup

April Monthly Roundup

April has been quite a busy yet calm month for me and instead of writing numerous posts one after the other (as it's the end of April so I'd be a it late) I decided to do a post about my whole month rolled into one post!

This post is divided up into different sections and headers so everything is easy to find and read.

April blog posts: Read about...
  • The fundraising coffee morning I went to HERE and all about I bought!
  • My Review of LMcG Jewellery HERE plus on how to nab your own!
  • My online dating experience and why I show my middle finger to it.. all HERE.
  • My Review of Minajesty, Nicki Minaj's NEWEST perfume HERE.

I never blogged about my Easter which was fab, how was yours? I baked a cake, got a massive mini eggs Easter egg from my mum plus she bought me lunch, my dad got me an MP3 player and I got Ice-cream ;)

Friday 18 I went to the Circuit of Ireland Rally (video coming soon!) Which to be honest I REALLY enjoyed! For the duration of the time I stood for (well over 2 hours) all ya got to see and hear was *zoom... zoom... zoom... zoom* get the drift? so to enjoy it you would have had to be a fan of racing and cars.. my sister who I dragged to it with me unfortunately was not..

I finally had a very late spring clean which was way overdue and now I have a wooden floor *cheers* my floor is ALWAYS covered in books, clothes, make-up, bits and bobs.. sorta everything but NOW I have a floor I can walk in my room and I can lie stretched out on the floor in the shape of a star fish and still have room. :D It's great now I don't have to try and find wee spots to put my feet to get from the door to my bed.

There's a few things happening in May which I'm looking forward to, my grannys 80th party, (need a new outfit)  swapping "What's in my handbag" guest posts with a blogger, I really need email those like pronto! I keep forgetting things! Last week I even forgot my age! :o (Not crazy!)

What about you? How was April for you? Anything exciting happening in the month ahead?

Beauty Review: Minajesty - Nicki Minaj

Beauty Review: Minajesty - Nicki Minaj

As the seasons are changing and the better weather coming in I decided I needed a fresh, fruity and girly scent to wear! For Christmas I got Diesel Loverdose Tattoo and although I still love it I really wanted something to get me in the mood for summer so when I saw all the exclusive deals The Perfume Shop were offering I knew it was my perfect opportunity to look no further for the perfect buy.

I was spritzing my sister with all the testers to see which one I preferred when the shop assistant told me about Minajesty. As soon as it was sprayed I knew it was the perfect one! It's sweet, light and not at all like my normal preference.. plus it sorta smells like the cocktail Cosmopolitan. ;) (To me anywho)

Another fab thing? It came with a black bag.. since my old one had only just ripped two days prior to buying this I think it was the best thing all round!
Perfume information:
30 mls
Price: £23.50

I love how the shape of the bottle is Nicki Minaj! It's makes it more unique than a boring old square bottle! :)

Have you bought any new perfumes recently you recommend I give a try? What do you think of Minajesty?

My online dating experience.. and why I show my middle finger to it!

My online dating experience.. and why I show my middle finger to it!

I signed up for an account on Plenty of Fish around 4 weeks ago and I think it deserves a name change to Plenty of Pigs! (No actually.. I love pigs.. pigs are too nice to even be considered in the same sentence) More like Plenty of Morons! (I know very original)

I decided to embrace the unknown and give online dating a try although sitting here now I know my whole perspective has changed. I was insulted and left feeling a mixture of emotions. Apparently alot of men feel brave behind a computer and a keyboard and think it's okay to insult and give verbal abuse to someone they know nothing about or to judge them by a picture.  I think they should grow some balls, grow up and respect a lady! (I promise am a lady.. most of the time! ;))

The majority of men MESSAGED ME not the other way around. I feel the need to point that out plus I had it stated on my profile my body type, what I was looking for, (which I don't believe matters) and that I'd send them a picture upon their request!)

There was one thing that seemed to stick the whole time and that was my weight, my fat, my belly, my over sized stomach! They all didn't want to talk to me after I sent them a picture of myself. I know I should feel insulted but I don't because it just proves I obviously am to big for there shallow little minds. They also seemed to think that because of my weight I was attracted to them and out for what I could get! Anyone that knows me well knows I'm high maintenance plus I may be a BBW but that don't mean I'm attracted to every guy in sight.. I do get options!

Three things I learnt from my experience:
1, Those men cannot read.
2, Those men must have only been looking for one thing only (S.E.X) and therefore did not bother to read my profile!
3, Read number 1 and 2!
That being said I did talk to a few genuine guys who seemed nice enough but I didn't really feel a click with any of them.. it seemed to be all heading in the friendship zone. Probably cause I can have a bit of banter with them and a good conversation. Although there was one... it seemed perfect at first! After 10 messages he told me he thought I was the one and I fell head over heels in love with him so when he asked me to give him my bank details so he could come visit me I instantly jumped at the chance...
Do people really think you're that gullible (stupid) in todays day and age? REALLY? Actually don't answer that.. I decided the distance was to far and going to be a struggle... he was heartbroken.. I was happy my money was safe and we went our separate ways.. (I deleted his ass soon as he sent the first message!)
One thing that bugged me though was a guy who felt the need message and call me a whore, fat, ugly and more insulting names from the description of myself shown on my profile.. he was a father with a child under one year! Can't help but think of the great example he's setting for his son on how to treat a woman..
Not to insult them or to offend and lower myself to their level but one thing I find attractive on a guy is text speak and someone who has good grammar. Something which these guys sadly did not have.. It was so hard to try and figure out what some of them meant, I really badly wanted to comment on it but for my better nature I didn't.
I still have my profile for those I'm talking to because they are really interesting guys although I'm not actively looking for a relationship, I just know that perhaps online dating isn't for me.. I think I'm ready to delete my profile so am showing my middle finger to it and putting it down as a lesson well learnt!
So I leave you with something I came across the other day for all men out there to think about.. something which men have been saying for years.. something which I think all women should remember for future reference if ever insulted about their weight by a man..

In my head they have this expression.. because they know it's true!
Utter Disbelief
(The site (POF) in itself was amazing, great features, graphics and a really good easy to use mobile app for smart phones. I love everything about POF especially how you were able to upload private pictures. In this post I in no way want to discourage you from signing up for an account, you may have better luck than me! The only problem with POF for me were the users. There is humour in this post because if I didn't dissect a little humour it would have been a big long drone!)
What do you think of online dating? Have you tried it? What were your experiences?
