Dublin is a City I love which makes St Patrick’s day the perfect celebration to write why I love the city. In recent years I visited the busy city quite a few times and explored just a tiny part of what this amazing city has to offer.
Below is a list of my favourite places in Dublin, as I haven’t been since before lockdown started some of these places may have closed, relocated or even changed. Thoughts shared are my opinion before 2020.
- BOSTON DONUTS
They have some amazing creations of doughnuts available and one that would suit anyone taste.
- EASONS
Since all Eason stores closed in Northern Ireland during the height of the pandemic I know I will hugely miss not being able to go into Belfast and grab some crafting magazines, books or attend the latest signing.
- DUBLIN ZOO
Dublin Zoo is amazing and one of the best things about it is there is no mountain of a hill like at Belfast Zoo. I spent hours here one day and still managed to not see everything. I would love to go back one day and see the places I missed out on. The Flamingos and penguins were definitely a favourite of mine.
- COPPER FACE JACKS
I’ve only been once and it was so good. The music, dancing and getting lost in the moment without worry felt amazing… until my feet ached in my new heels and when I attempted to ease the pain and keep them off I got a torch shown in my face to stick them back on. I understand health and safety but note for anyone going – the time goes so quick in there so definitely wear flats or comfortable shoes to have an even better time.
- THIRD SPACE CAFE
This cafe was a bit of a safe haven for me in Dublin, I got so much blogging and writing done here and the staff were so friendly each time I went in. I was able to just sit, relax and have as clear a mind as I could when writing.
- BUTLER’S CHOCOLATE CAFE
Being able to pick individual chocolates instead of buying a box filled half with ones you won’t eat is something I dislike doing so finding Butler’s was so exciting. They have an array of truffles, white chocolate, and more which you can pick from. I loved being able to grab some truffles here, if you’re in the area definitely check them out. I would love to go back to Dublin soon just for this chocolate!
- BOOKS ON THE GREEN
This book shop is located in Sandymount, I could spend hours in here and very nearly did. The lady that was working the day I was there was so friendly, chatty, and helpful. We talked about books and life whilst she told me about the different places I should try in Sandymount. Their beach is another amazing part of Ireland, it’s absolutely lush – especially sitting on the sand if it’s a lovely sunny evening.
There is so much to explore in this leafy city and I know living only a few hours away I can visit it as the world becomes more normal every day. The Trinity Library, cafes for blogging in, and also Dublin Zoo are on my Dublin bucket list.
