Derren Brown made his way to Belfast’s Grand Opera House as part of a stop on his UK and Ireland live tour ‘Showman’. A show that will have you laughing, your mind racing, and the question that may or not be answered “How did he actually do that?”
Derren Brown is a household name and has shocked audiences for years in both a very positive and suspenseful way – from predicting the national lottery numbers, something I remember watching on TV and being mindblown to even being a guest on the Late Late Show with James Corden for a little bit of lightbulb eating (which you SHOULD NOT try at home) and even writing numerous best-selling books.
My boyfriend got us tickets last year for my birthday and since August I have been counting down the days to attend the show. When we first started dating Lee and I would watch clips of old Derren Brown shows on Youtube which then turned into full-length episodes both being fans of him before we knew each other.

The Showman Tour is not to be missed and is an exciting and worthwhile experience. I recommend catching one of the shows if you’re able to as you will not be disappointed. Derren Brown catches your interest and curiosity as well as leaving you on the edge of your seat.
I would love to share what happened during the show and write about the events that still capture my interest but as the show was near the end Derren Brown himself asked the audience to keep the show private and not to spill any spoilers on social media for the next audience members to be as unsuspecting as us. I myself am glad I hadn’t known anything that was going to be featured as not expecting it meant my mind was fully open to all possibilities.
There are still many opportunities to catch one of the shows on this tour, more information and tickets can be found here.
There are two shows I’d planned on seeing this year at the GOH – one being Derren Brown, next is the hit musical ‘Six’ in August which I cannot wait for.
Are you a fan of Derren Brown? Have you ever seen one of his shows?
